What does it taste like?
This is especially gorgeous Nebbiolo from one of the best vintages in the Piedmonts history, 2015. We think of this as a BABY Barolo, drinking sooner. It shows the floral and perfumed aromatics, the deep, savory flavors, and the long, silky-textured finish that make the 100% Nebbiolo wines of Barbaresco and Barolo among the most sought-after and renowned in the world.
The wine is a deep ruby red, leaning toward garnet. Elegant, layered aromas of raspberries, roses and licorice lend to a full-bodied palate with a lingering harmonious finish. “Cherries and berries with a lemon and floral character. Medium body, firm acidity and a flavorful finish. Lively. Drink now.” - James Suckling 92 points
Food
Stuffed Poultry and Milanese Risotto! It’s also super with pasta, meats and your favorite chicken dishes.
The Prunotto Estate
The Prunotto estate is located in Alba, the most important city in the Langhe area halfway between Barbaresco and Barolo. The winery is named for Alfredo Prunotto who bought a struggling Piedmont cooperative winery in 1923 and made it his own. Although Alfredo sold the winery upon his retirement in 1956, his legacy continues today with the Antinori family. The Antinori family have moved the winery forward by investing in vineyards, equipment, and varietal analysis, carrying on Alfredo’s legacy and making Prunotto the success that it is today.
